Ahn Woo-jin (23) of Kiwoom had the best year of his career as a baseball player this year. He was reborn as the best pitcher in the KBO league, both in name and reality, winning the Golden Glove as well as records such as 1st in ERA and strikeouts and 2nd in wins.
On the 18th, Ahn Woo-jin met with a reporter and said, “(If you score this year), it is 100 points out of 100.”
Ahn Woo-jin literally threw really hard this year. He recorded the most innings and pitches in the league with 196 innings and 3003 pitches in the regular season alone. Kiwoom rose from the semi-playoffs to the Korean Series, and An Woo-jin played the most innings (26.2 innings) in the postseason.
Even so, there was no abnormality in the condition of An Woo-jin’s shoulders and arms. Ahn Woo-jin said, “(After the season) I had a detailed examination at the hospital, and there was nothing wrong.”
An Woo-jin has only one goal this off-season. It’s going to be the same process as last offseason. It’s because he’s had his best year, and he doesn’t need to change his training pattern and schedule in particular.
Ahn Woo-jin said, “I started exercising in earnest two weeks ago and am gradually increasing the intensity.” However, the pitching will start a little later by throwing a lot of balls.”
An Woo-jin set a meaningful record this year. In the final game of the season, he set a new record for most strikeouts (224) in a single season by a domestic player. It fell one short of the record for the most strikeouts in a season (225, Ariel Miranda). Ahn Woo-jin, who became the best pitcher, said he would not be greedy for his record next season. He said he just wanted to reduce his walks. An Woo-jin had 55 walks this year, the second most walks after KIA Eui-ri Lee (74 walks) among pitchers with more than 10 wins. 스포츠토토
He said, “I want to achieve all records, but I don’t think it is something I can do alone.” I think what I can do is not to get sick and not to walk. I’m thinking of doing it comfortably,” he said.
Ahn Woo-jin, who gave himself 100 points this year, smiled and said, “I think I can give myself 90 points next season as long as I don’t get sick regardless of grades or results.”
