Gangneung High School wins cold game against Bucheon High School in Presidential Baseball Game 1

The Gangneung High School baseball team took a strong first step toward its first national championship this year.스포츠토토

Led by head coach Choi Jae-ho, Gangneung High defeated Bucheon High 12-2 in the sixth inning in the first round of the 57th Presidential High School Baseball Tournament at Shinwol Baseball Stadium in Seoul, South Korea. On this day, Gangneungo wielded a blitzkrieg that scored runs in every inning. They gave up a run in the top of the first inning, but quickly tied the game in the bottom of the first and added three runs in the bottom of the second thanks to back-to-back singles by Jeon Hong-rok and Yang Hee-chan.

After adding one run in the third and fourth innings, Gangneunggo extended its lead to 8-1 in the bottom of the fifth on a wild pitch and a RBI single by Yang Hee-chan. After giving up a solo home run to Lee Yoo-bin in the top of the sixth, Gangneungo needed four runs to win the cold game, and the Gangneungo bats responded. In the bottom of the sixth, Jung Jae-woo led off with a double and stole third. Choi Min-ho followed with a single to bring Jung home, and after back-to-back walks loaded the bases, a wild pitch brought in another run, and with runners on second and third, Lee Chan-seo hit a game-tying single to end the game.

Freshman Hee-chan Yang had an unexpectedly strong day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Choi Min-ho also went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Starting ace Yook Cheong-myung pitched two and two-thirds innings of one-run ball, while second pitcher Lim Jun-won tossed two and two-thirds scoreless innings to secure the win. Gangneung Go will play Daegu Go on Friday for a spot in the round of 16.
