“I’ll sing a great song next time” Samsung’s rookie pitcher surprises the announcer

 “Meet you~”

The 2023 KBO Newcomer Orientation held at the Daejeon Convention Center on the 12th. Due to Corona 19, 130 new players from 10 clubs gathered in one place after conducting online education for the past two years and face-to-face in three years.

Starting with KBO President Heo Gu-yeon’s greetings, ‘Legend’ Park Yong-taek, KBSN sports commentator, gave a lecture and shared his experiences with his players, giving encouragement and advice.

The highlight was the media interview with the players and the training session related to fan service. After lunch, in the lazy afternoon, a player who burst into laughter appeared. It was Samsung’s rookie pitcher Park Kwon-hoo (19).

MBC Sports Plus announcer Park Ji-young, who served as a lecturer, posted a video of Choi Jun-yong (Lotte) singing during an interview training. Announcer Park said, “If there is a player who sings well here, please report it. who’s good at it Shall we sing a song?”

However, there was a player who bravely raised his hand and stepped onto the podium, and that was Park Kwon-hoo. He grabbed the microphone and introduced himself with a sweet tone, “Hello~ I’m Park Kwon-hoo from the Samsung Lions” and sang Paul Kim’s ‘Meet You’ passionately. He sang ‘Beep Sari’, but he did not give in and sang the song to the end.

The quiet scene quickly turned into a sea of laughter. Park Kwon-hoo, who induced a positive response by clapping himself, finished the song and received warm applause from his rookie colleagues. Regarding her singing ability below expectations, she said, “I couldn’t get my voice out because I had a cold. Originally, I am a real singer,” he said strongly (?). 스포츠토토

Announcer Park said, “If you interview MVP during the season, I will have you sing for me, so please prepare it.” Park Kwon-hoo boldly replied, “At that time, I will prepare a great song and sing it right away.” Announcer Park was amazed at his unstoppable spirit, saying, “I don’t think I will ever forget Park Kwon-hoo.”

Right-handed pitcher Park Kwon-hoo, who played an active role as the ace of Jeonju, was nominated by Samsung in the 18th overall in the second round of this year. He mainly plays a fastball with a maximum speed of 147 km and a splitter. At the ‘Rookies Day’ held at Daegu Samsung Lions Park on October 1 of last year, when taking pictures with reporters, he was active enough to ask, “Can I do hearts?” I wonder what kind of song he would sing in an interview when he won his first professional win.

The orientation, which became harmonious thanks to Park Kwon-hoo’s song, was followed by Son Yeong-bae, chief prosecutor at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office, for sports ethics education and Kim Woo-jung, KBO auditor’s lecture on financial management for new players. The orientation ended in great success with a briefing session on player pensions and a survey of the players.
