Kyle Palmer hit by pitch at 147 km/h gets 10-day IL listing

 Minnesota Twins infielder Kyle Palmer (33), who was hit in the face by a ball thrown by an opposing pitcher during the game, was placed on the injured list.

On the 14th (Korean time), the Minnesota team placed Palmer, who needs lower tooth surgery, on the 10-day injured list (IL). Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli explained that “exams did not reveal a fractured jaw.”

Palmer was hit by a pitch스포츠토토 from opponent starter Lucas Giolito in the bottom of the 4th inning against the 2023 MLB Chicago White Sox held at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA on the 13th.

At the end of the 4th inning, Giolito’s second pitch, 91.6 miles per hour (approximately 147km), from 1st out and 3rd base, flew into Palmer’s face without being in control. After being hit by a pitch, Palmer lay on the ground and complained of pain.

Farmer is in need of dental surgery to reposition four of his lower teeth. He also needs stitches on his torn lower lip.

“I don’t want to hit anyone at the plate. It’s a very bad thing,” said Giolito, who appeared to be blaming himself by covering his head after throwing a hit to Palmer.

White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said, “I hope Palmer recovers quickly.”

Meanwhile, Palmer recorded a batting average of 0.226 (7 hits in 31 at-bats), 1 home run and 5 RBIs in 11 games this season.
