The Atlanta Braves, who have been without a one-two punch on the mound all season, are getting a returning starter from last year. Kyle Wright, 28, will start a minor league game.스포츠토토
Wright will make a rehab start at Single-A on May 25, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a local Atlanta media outlet.
If all goes well, he is expected to return in early September. Wright’s return to form is very welcome news for Atlanta.
Wright was previously sidelined in early May with right shoulder inflammation. This is similar to the timing of ace Max Fried’s (29) departure: three months without the one-two punch.
Through it all, Atlanta has managed to stay in the game with its top lineup and the strength of Spencer Strider (25), Charlie Morton (40), Bryce Elder (24), and the bullpen.
Now it’s time for the one-two punch to carry the team. Wright pitched 180 1/3 innings in 30 games last year, going 21-5 with a 3.19 ERA.
If Wright returns to form and forms a one-two punch with Freed, Atlanta’s starting mound could quickly become one of the best in the league.
In addition to Wright, the A’s are also hoping to have relievers Jesse Chavez, Dylan Lee, and Nick Anderson back in September after missing time with injuries.
