Michael Block (USA), the breakout star of the PGA Championship, a major on the United States Professional Golf (PGA) Tour, has jumped a whopping 3003 places in the world rankings.
Block,안전놀이터 who works as a lesson pro, was ranked 3580 last week. It’s a ranking that’s hard to find.
But the PGA Championship brought a lightning bolt of luck into his life. Block emerged as a breakout star at the PGA Championship with a tie for 15th place and a hole-in-one in the final round.
He was ranked 577th on the World Golf Rankings, which were released on the 23rd after the tournament. He jumped more than 3,000 spots in one fell swoop.
Block also appeared on CNN’s morning program that day. When asked if it was like the golf movie “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” he said, “Exactly. It’s the same in that I’m the lesson pro,” he said.
“Tin Cup” is a movie about a lesson pro who works at a rural golf course and tries to win the U.S. Open. Starring Kevin Costner, the movie was a rare box office success for a golf-themed movie.
“I’m a small-town golf course lesson pro and I’m playing Justin Rose in the third round and Rory McIlroy in the fourth round. It was a dream come true.”
His tie for 15th at the PGA Championship earned him an invitation to the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge, which begins on Saturday, so he said he canceled all of his scheduled lessons this week. “I’m sure my clients will be very understanding,” he said, adding, “I think my wife is going to ask me to raise my rates.” Block charged $150 (about $200) per hour for lessons.
