Yankees → elbow surgery → 2-year contract with Toronto, ‘RYU new colleague’ caught in the back of the head, absurd injury ‘return was just around the corner’

Ryu Hyun-jin’s (36, Toronto Blue Jays) teammate right-handed pitcher Chad Green (32) was injured in a rehabilitation game and his return was delayed.스포츠토토

On the 9th (Korean time), Green took the mound in the bottom of the 5th inning against the minor league triple-A Worcester Red Sox (under the Boston Red Sox) held at Paula Park in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA.

The injuries were as follows. Green, who got two outs first, allowed Ryan Fitzgerald to bunt. Trying to face the next batter, Fitzgerald attempted to steal second base. Then, catcher Tyler Heineman threw it to second base to stop the theft, and the throw hit the back of the green’s head.

Fortunately, Green did not collapse. However, he continued to touch the back of his head and complain of his pain. He was able to find out that it was not a major injury by talking normally with the trainer who came out to check his condition. However, he came down from the mound for management as the area he was hit was on the head.

According to MLB.com, Toronto manager John Schneider said, “Green has entered the concussion treatment procedure.”

Regardless of the player’s doctor, a player suspected of having a concussion must rest for a week and pass an examination before he can return to the mound.

Since 2016, Green has appeared in 272 games over seven seasons with the New York Yankees, recording a 3.17 ERA with 33 wins, 22 losses, 53 holds, and 11 saves.

Green, who underwent elbow ligament surgery in June last year, signed a two-year contract with Toronto in January this year. Green, who completed his rehabilitation well, went to the final actual game check that day, but his return to the big leagues was somewhat delayed due to an embarrassing injury.
